Is my DNA test a "Legal DNA test"?

In Rhode Island, if a judge orders a DNA test, it must be performed through the courts. However, if you bring a test to court, the judge MAY decide to allow it as evidence, depending on many factors, including the identification verification protocols followed, testing methods, the strength of the chain of custody, and whether it is performed by a truly independent third party. There is no guarantee that a RI judge will accept our results. That said, our tests are as close to RI's 'legal' standard as you can get. It is entirely possible that our high-quality tests could answer the question well enough to avoid going to court altogether (which would save you time and money).

How does DNA testing work?

First we have a phone consultation to determine what your needs are, and we quote a price for our service. Next we meet you at the prearranged place and time. We check the identity of each person being tested, and you sign a legal document certifying that you are who you say you are. Then we painlessly collect samples by using swabs to collect your DNA from the inside of your cheek. We sign, package, and seal the samples along with your documentation into a shipping pouch. We hand it over to the shipping company. After the test samples are delivered, we check with the lab to make sure that the samples are usable. If not, we contact you to arrange a retest. A retest fee does apply, so it is important to follow instructions very carefully. We do not look at the results. The results will be accessible to the person who pays for the test, or their legal representative.

How much does DNA testing cost?

It depends. Testing starts at $375 for the most basic 2-person test taking place at one location with 3 or more days advance notice. Retesting, additional locations, additional tests, same-day appointments, etc. will incur additional charges. Call 401-712-2247 for a free consultation and quote.

I need to submit random urine screens, do you accept my insurance?
